Interrupting Stinkin Thinkin
When I change my thoughts I change my world. Only I am responsible for the thoughts I think. Sometimes I remind myself not to drift into worry, remorse or morbid reflection for that would diminish my usefullness to others, and sometimes I don't. I feel so much better about people, myself and life when I stay away from those three thought processes! It's loving and kind not only to others, but to myself. I want to show up in the world, without my sack of uselessness.
Forgiveness- an act of loving yourself and others, yep!
First of all, WELCOME! Whooohoo! Happy Dance!!!
For those of you who may not yet know me, I have a zest for life that sometimes pisses even happy people off. If you get pissed, don't worry, I will completely understand and expect that you keep coming back to read the daily posts I blog about. I need YOUR feedback!
If you're still reading this, fabulous! I have not blogged in some time and the first few might look sorta strange.
Anyway, FORGIVENESS is the topic on my mind at the moment. I was in a meeting and found myself saying that I have a whole bucket full of patience and forgiveness and a big girl straw that I can pull out from my back pocket used to suck some of that yummy goodness in at any moment I CHOOSE to.
Another tool I use when I don't feel loving or kind...a beautiful song by Matthew West called "Forgiveness":
It's the hardest thing to give away
And the last thing on your mind today
It always goes to those that don't deserve
It's the opposite of how you feel
When the pain they caused is just to real
It takes everything you have just to say the word...
Forgiveness
Forgiveness
It flies in the face of all your pride
It moves away the mad inside
It's always anger's own worst enemy
Even when the jury and the judge
Say you gotta right to hold a grudge
It's the whisper in your ear saying 'Set It Free'
Forgiveness, Forgiveness
Forgiveness, Forgiveness
Show me how to love the unlovable
Show me how to reach the unreachable
Help me now to do the impossible
Forgiveness, Forgiveness
Help me now to do the impossible
Forgiveness
It'll clear the bitterness away
It can even set a prisoner free
There is no end to what it's power can do
So, let it go and be amazed
By what you see through eyes of grace
The prisoner that it really frees is you
Forgiveness, Forgiveness
Forgiveness, Forgiveness
Show me how to love the unlovable
Show me how to reach the unreachable
Help me now to do the impossible
Forgiveness
I want to finally set it free
So show me how to see what Your mercy sees
Help me now to give what You gave to me
Forgiveness, Forgiveness
